New Business!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this on my OWN blog! I started a hand-dyed cross-stitch business in June. I definitely stepped into it very gingerly not expecting much. But WOW! The response has been amazing. I have named the business “Fantasy Dyed Fabrics” and I invite everyone to join my FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1549418218696022/

The reason I started the business is that I have been so frustrated with the current choices in purchasing cross-stitch fabric. I would find the PERFECT fabric, only to be disappointed by: 1) the month long wait to get it; and 2) it didn’t look anything like the photo that I had agonized over. What a waste! So it was kind of a smack your forehead moment – I can do this! So here I am, trying to solve these two problems and help out my fellow stitchers!  With my business I am only dyeing “solo-type” fabrics and no custom orders.  So the fabrics that are posted are the exact ones you will receive.  And you will receive them within days (not weeks) of your purchase.

Book Modelstitching

Received a package in the mail the other day from one of the companies that I modelstitch for. They sent me their most recent hardcover book because one of the designs I stitched was in it. I love it!

Here’s a pic of the front of the book:

TWO new cover designs

The current issue of Just Cross Stitch Magazine has the design that I stitched for them on the cover! Yay!

THEN I get this book in the mail and I stitched the “U” on the cover (and several other examples of this alphabet inside).

Got a surprise in the mail yesterday. This new hardback Cross-Stitch Christmas book that has a set of designs that I modelstitched! Rarely am I sent the finished product. Also includes my name in the front as one of the stitchers. I think I love this publisher!

I’m on a roll!

swan

Just completed this design called Seven Swans a Swimming from Cottage Garden Samplings. The fabric is from Jo’s Fabrics and Such — a custom dyed marble.

And another!

And also Mermaid of Atlantis that I finished for my daughter Leah. She can’t wait to have it hanging in her apartment.

A Big Finish

HamamFinally finished Small Hamam Oasis by Chatelaine. It has been a WIP for quite some time and pulled it out and was determined to make a finish. The photo doesn’t do it justice. It is really heavily beaded and lots of specialty stitches and metallic threads. The fabric is Bonfire Smoke by Crafty Kitten.
